It was a year ago

Last weekend, my mind was all about him. Fortunately, I had a busy wedding weekend and it went well.

but last night, for the second time within a few days, I dreamed about him and again, it was a getting-back-together oriented dream... like if I needed this.

My mind and my heart is still upside down, I still have not succeeded to forget him and about our short but so nice time together last year and so, indeed, it was a year ago that we met. I was worried about that moment to come but it has come.

I have not have any news or contact since he came to my place last September, he was all "yes, let's keep in touch, keep me posted about your new job" (I was a buyer assistant at that moment), etc. But nothing happened and he totally stopped any contacts with me. I do not know if he is still dating his girl and what is new about him and am dying to have news about him. I am still in touch with a friend and colleague of him but have not seen him since D. broke up with me because I had understood he was not against dating me and it scared me but now, curiosity is too big and I am thinking about asking J. to have a drink some time just to have subtly news about D.

Each time I wake up from these dreams, I am overwhelmed and sad and scared and nostalgic... For the past months, I said that I needed time to get over D. and be ready for a new relationship but each time I am thinking about a new man in my life I cannot help it but think that he will not be enough D. like, I am so pitiful and sad and scared and nostalgic... I have let my profile on the two dating Websites I used to be one but I rarely go there, I wait for emails and delete them instantly because guys are not interesting (and not D. enough), when I run a research ones in a while, I can even find a guy to who send an email within about a hundred of them.

So I wait for a normal encounter but most of my friends are married, in a relationship and friends of my friends are also in relationships, have set up house with their partner, etc. I do not make new encounters at work where there are only women, the fitness club? well people are, as I am, focused on their training and I would be too shy to go and talk to a handsome guy not know if he is available or what, I do not go out because I am out of money and my friends are all busy with their family, partner or anything else, so elsewhere? well, where?

I stopped believing there are free nice guys out there for me anymore, it is too late. And to make it all easier, I am a so selective person and I have become even more careful about guys. Something weird happened at my friend's wedding last Saturday, I met the partner of a University pal, a kind girl I know from University but do not hang out with, I had never seen him before, guess what is name was, D.... and he was kind of looking a little like him and I could not stop looking at him all the evening, what a sad girl...

In some way, I still think about him but also wish I could have a new man in my life to go on and have a life that means something, I miss all the couple things, even the simplest ones, I miss tenderness, I miss love.

Shit happens... C'est la vie

Last Tuesday, I finally took care of the forwarding of my mail to my new address. It is very simple, for 22€, La Poste will forward the mail and parcels that arrive to your former address to your new one, during 6 or 12 months, how practical!

We also took care, with my mom, of the renting of a commercial car for one day to be able to move my stuff to D.'s place. I gave my new address to many administration offices. Things were going well.

On Tuesday evening, when D. got back from his work day, we chatted on MSN when suddenly we wanted to "talk seriously". That never forecasts good things. And it did not.

To sum up, D. has been doubting about moving in together, he thinks it has gone too quickly and need time to think about it and suggested me to finally look for a place... 3 weeks before I was supposed to move in and before we have to let the apartment available for the new owners.

He prefers to stay as we are for the moment and later if it is still going well, we (he?) could reconsider living together.

I cannot tell you how shocked, angry, sad, disappointed and lost I got in a couple of minutes!
For the rest of the evening and the whole day after, I have been hating him for doing that to me NOW. I hate him for making me be a fool to my friends and relatives to whom I will have to tell what is going now. That is just not fair!

My feelings are still upside down but I have had time to think and try to organize myself differently.

I have spent all Wednesday back on apartment renting ads, called 30 people, 20 to 25 apartment are already rented after only 2 or 5 days on the Web. I also let messages on cellphones answering machines.

So far, I have had three answers and appointments to visit apartments. I had planned to spend the night at D.'s place on Thursday so it was practical to go and visit a studio in the same town.

What were the chances that the building is 5 minutes by foot away from the barracks and D.'s place!

It is nice, brand new (the building was finished a month ago), with a large bathroom but quite small (30m²), in a neighborhood I stated to know, with only a little "kitchen" space and on the ground floor, the only window looking out on the street.

Tomorrow, I will go and visit a one bedroom apartment in another two of the close suburb, in the south of Paris. So it is further away from D., my mom and all my friends but close to my dad's. It is on the 4th floor without elevator (sport is good for me!), it's a 43m² (wow!) with an independent kitchen (nice!). Now, I just need to see it in real, see if I like it, like the neighborhood I do not know. See if I prefer to have a smaller place near D. in a town I already know a little or far away in a bigger place...

I will also visit another one on Monday. I also have a job appointment for a temp job (four months) in the "far away" suburb on Tuesday. That would mean 2h-2h30 of transportation everyday but the job seems nice, will see how it goes.

Now, I will have to - in French we say digérer (digest) this new trial and especially, the fact that it is being inflicted by the man I love.

A hot and wild weekend

On Friday night, we went to one of D.'s colleagues to celebrate his birthday, we were three couples and another single colleague. I do not drink. I mean, I like one cocktail once in a while but, I only got shit plastered one time in my life, last summer, in Malta. But Friday went differently, I do not know if that was the environment, the vibes, etc. One rum/orange led to another one after 5 of them, I was "happy"! Indeed, we all got quite drunk, except D. who had to be ready in case he would be called for an intervention for work and because he was working on Saturday morning also.

After the birthday dinner, we went to a night club they are used to go to. I am not a night club person but, as I said, the night livened things up. D. wanted to take his birthday pal on his moto but he was way to drunk so I took his place.

The day after was a hell of a bad day. OMG!! I can tell you that I now understand why I do not drink! I have been sick all day. Not like last year but not feeling good at all. I am now detoxified with alcohol for a while now! lol

Saturday night was a nice went evening. Ito the Stade de France - and in any stadium - for the first time to see the finale of the Top 14 (French competition) between Toulouse and Clermont-Ferrand. It has nothing to do with soccer, supporters are very nice to each other, even mixed together in the stadium. The atmosphere was very nice!

Sunday was such a nice sunny and hot day. We got a sunburn on the face (ouch, how to not look ridiculous when you got the sunglasses tan on your face and your nose all red!) and a light one on the arms and the décolleté. D. and I went to the Stunt Bike Show near Paris, I had been there last year, it was very nice and D. loved it! The moto is so practical when the motorway is full with traffic jam at the end of the day.

This week is going to be dedicated to boxes, packing again... and getting that sunburn into a nice suntan! wink

The past week

HOT:

- Went out with D. and friends of him on Wednesday evening to watch independent short movies, it was nice.

- Went out with D. and a couple of friends of mine (it was time!) on Friday night. I am my friend's witness for her wedding in September. We ate at Planet Sushi, in the center of Paris, the place is gorgous! It is the only one like this in Paris. And the food... I love Japanese food, but they propose some pieces of food you will not find anywhere else, it was a very nice dinner.

- On Saturday afternoon, as I know that D. likes flowers and plants and knows some about it, I knew where to take him. I had been there once with my dad and his partner and fortunately found the way back there. We went to the greenhouses of Porte d'Auteuil and he loved it! (photos on Shoot a Life!)

NOT:

- D. is gone to see his parents - an hour away from Paris - for his (step) mother birthday and did not tell me he wanted to go until Monday night when I asked him if it was sure we was not working on Tuesday night because I wanted to take him out for his birthday (we did not have time to do it yet). I did not tell him why but I had told him I wanted to take him out on Tuesday evening but... he forgot. I was very glad on Monday night. Especially because he will only come back on Thursday afternoon, has a BBQ evening with some colleagues, I am going to my Dad's on Friday night. So we will only see each other on Saturday night for the Music Feast if he does not work (he may...) or on Sunday...

- We had to call our Internet provider AGAIN and we are really angry about it and will write a letter to ask for a payback because we do not think it is normal to have had our Internet connection go off each week for the past two months. Fortunately, we will be soon done with them!

- Being very tired since last week and have been to the fitness club just once as a consequence.

- Still being stressed about the moving, not knowing when we will do it, how... not having papercard boxes to put things in yet, thinking that if the dinner table and the chairs are sold on Ebay this week, we will not have anything to eat and put my laptop on... if the closets are gone, we will not anything to put our clothes...

- Still being stressed about that job hunting that leads nowhere.

- France off the European Soccer Competition. What can I say, was it this new team that was not good and/or our manager?
Anyway, I did not feel it that year compared to two years ago, when I knew they would be in finals.
Good luck to the Netherlands! You deserve it.

First move !

Yesterday, as I was going to D.'s place by car, I acted on the first step of my moving.

I brought all my DVDs and a little coffee table.

That was so weird, I first thought "how boring it is to move those things there and take them back home... oh no, wait... that's a one-way ticket, there are going to their new home..."

I really have to get used to it.

But it feels nice to have some of my stuff over there now... and it will continue wink

Three to one

This is my Friday night's rant!

As I said earlier, D.'s job has its good and bad sides.

This weekend was supposed to be nice and I was looking forward to it as I had not seen D. the whole week but it got suddenly shortened from two days and three nights together to one day and one short night!

Some guys are sick or had to take days off because of personal stuff so the bosses picked out two guys from D.'s company and, oh, guess what, D. is one that two guys... what were the chances...

So he was back to working at the Elysée today, and also Sunday and Tuesday and he is quite mad about that because he is not supposed to be there so often, that is supposed to be the more little part of his job and because of that, we will not be able to train with his colleagues, what he has not done in a while.

So tonight, I am home alone, bored and sad sad And as D. forgot his mind at home this morning, he forgot to leave me the keys in the mailbox so I could not go there today, I will get up early tomorrow and drive over there around 8 - 8:30am, time they get back to the barracks.

Sunday, I will go and see Sex and the City the movie with a girlfriend of mine and be bored and sad again in the evening back home.

And, of course, weather forecast: tomorrow is supposed to be rainy but Sunday will be sunny!

Yeah right...

The Glory of moving

I remember last time we had to move, 11 years ago, I was a teenager and moving was a good thing because it gave me the occasion to sort of my personal belongings and - let's face it - crap! lol

We did not move far away, we stayed in the same street actually and for a bigger apartment so it was quite an easy operation.
In about a month, I will be moving, after a decade spent in this apartment and more than 20 years in this town and neighborhood!

D. already has most of the furniture you can need, so I will only bring three or four pieces I want to keep. My mom will not bring anything to her partner's home and very few to the apartment she bought in her native town, in the center of France, she prefers to buy new furniture, it will cost her less money than rent a moving vehicle all the way there. So I began to put the furniture none of us will take on Ebay and another French Website.

If anyone is interested by a TV cupboard, a table and its four chairs, a bed (with slatted bed base and mattress) and its two bedside tables, a display cabinet, two 3 door-closets or a desk, let me know! Everything is in good condition!

Moving has its advantages and disadvantages.

The disvantage: there is so MUCH to do!

The advantage: you HAVE to sort, tidy, give away to associations and needy people and throw away! That's amazing and scary how much crap you can store in a decade! It's always "this could be useful one day..." or concerning clothes "I could wear it again later".

No, the answer is no. If after two years, you have not used the thing or worn the clothe, just give it away, you will never do it!

I do not recognize myself, giving away or throwing so many things. Good for me!
I also have lots of trinkets. I used to collect little bells you buy in the cities and country you go or that people bring you as a souvenir. I stopped collecting them as soon as the dedicated shelf was full, time to move on. I think I will keep the bigger and most pretty ones and store the others in a box. This is what I am going to go for my frogs collection and the other trinkets I have. The more little it is, the more annoying it is to clean a house and do the dusting!

I am also a lights fan! I have different sorts of lamps (color, shape, etc.), fairy lights and the one I love is my Playboy bunny neon light I got for a birthday.

I also want to buy this for my laptop. I am used to have my computer in the living room so I could not put in the office room like D., no I am not an Internet addict... mmhh rolleyes

My mom and I have always been books addict so I will also bring a huge collection of books and comics but fortunately D. also like books and had planned to buy a bookcase, nice... because I will really need one. wink

As I also do not want to rent a moving vehicle, I will begin to bring some furniture and little pieces each weekend - like CDs, DVDs, kitchen stuff, clothes... oh not wait, we need to buy a proper closet for me to be able to do that. mrgreen Even if I sorted my clothes, I still have quite many, I am a girl, so more than D. anyway, thus we need to figure out what type of closet we need to buy so that it is the more convenient possible for both of us.

June seems to be a very busy month to come.
I have to see my dad for Father's Day. I will go the week after because D. is taking me away for this surprise weekend and I will tell him about my new boyfriend AND me moving out with him...

There are medical and hairdresser appointments, birthday celebrations, friends who want to do dinner things to meet D., job hunting interviews and other appointments, preparing the moving out/in and then moving in about five weeks.

I actually had to print a calendar from Works software to write down all this because my agenda is just a mess now! eek

Let's meet in a month to see where I am at.

*The good thing about not being home much is that I do not have sweet stuff and biscuits to eat between meals mrgreen

A week-long absence

Sorry guys for this week-long absence but we are going through Internet problems so the only way to be able to go on the Web is to connect my computer on some random non protected wi-fi connection, when I find one.

Thus, I have not been able to update the blog and read your last posts. Last weekend and the one to come, I am at D.'s place but - no offense - I was kind of busy. wink

Last weekend was very good. I am being less and less at home.

This home where, lately, I only felt good and I would hardly leave for a movie, a drink, grocery shopping or sport.

I thought that seeing my new boyfriend on the weekend would be very enough.

But for the past three weeks, we have been seeing each other almost every two days and all weekends! How crazy! We spent from Thursday to Monday together and I did not even got bored!

Thursday afternoon, I worked on my job hunting at his home while we was reviewing for his soon-to-come exam, same on Friday morning while he was working. On Friday afternoon, we went to the movies and did some shopping (Birthdays, Fathers and Mothers Day). We had our first sleep in together and again, he prepared a nice brunch and went to Paris in the afternoon.
On Sunday, we went to my home and went to... Ikea! lol What else can you do on a rainy Sunday? wink D. wants me to get involved into this apartment's decoration, that is nice.

Monday went by very fast, he chilled at home and I drove him back home in the afternoon. And after all that, we still did not have enough of the each other!biggrin

Today, I came to his place to work. We first had lunch together as he was on a break.

Tonight, he proposed to take me out to dinner somewhere, sound nice! biggrin

This weekend, in Paris, it is supposed to be stormy and rainy (again!) whereas the week was quite sunny, not fair!

Big piece of news!
My parents may have found buyers for our apartment. Some people came to visit it last Tuesday and made an offer right after to the real estate agent. They are wealthy people and would pay cash! Thus, they asked for a rebate... and my parents are okay, so they will go and sign the sale promise tomorrow.

Another big piece of news, although nothing is 100% sure.
As soon as I notified D. about the sale, we talked about the fact that I would have to go back to the apartment hunting as our apartment will be available next August 1st. Few days later and after serious talks, it is pretty sure that I will move with D. next July. He is the one who made the proposition. I am barely home now, we spent all our weekends together, he has enough space for two people in his apartment, no rent, I like the neighborhood, it is not far from where I live, we get along very good, we like to cook, he is okay for Sisi (he has a rabbit at this parents'), we think we will be able to bear each other and anyway, we will still keep our habits (sport, seeing our friends, family, invite them over), he does not have Monday-Friday work schedule so we will not see each other every day and night, etc.

That is a very big thing because he have not been together for long but we feel good about it and, strangely, I do not feel scared by the idea of living with a guy! lol We will have more talks about it but, let us say that, in two months, I will be in a new town (first time since I was born) and a new home (2nd time), with a boyfriend (first time!).

To follow...

New address

Lately, I have been quite nostalgic about the 25 years I have been living in my town. I have moved once, 11 years ago but we stayed in the same street.

My parents are selling the apartment, it is part of their divorce contract.

At first, it was clear to my mind that I would be moving this summer, in August at the latest, that is what my mom told the agency, it is more convenient for her pension, etc. But, last time we had a visit, one of the real estate agent told her that, right now, it is not the best time to sell an apartment, I mean, this year, France has not been at its best. People do not have money to invest anymore. So, we could only sell the apartment in September or October.

When I heard that, that was a relief because I have been so used to living here, in this town, in the neighborhood, in this apartment that I have trouble picturing me elsewhere, so far. Not that I do not want to move, I want to move on, have my own apartment, etc. But as I do not have a job for the moment, it is difficult to imagine myself paying a rent, buying furniture, etc.

That thought and that fear have evolved lately. The more I come to D.'s apartment, the more I feel good over here. How weird...

He leaves on the complete opposite of Paris, but when I think about it, I feel that it would not bother me so much. My town is only 20min away by car when the traffic is fluid! So I could still keep some habits back there, like go to mt doctors, go to the Commercial Center, visit my mom and her partner, and my friends - who do not live in my town anymore but still on the East side of Paris's suburb. And here, we are very close to Paris with the urban train too.

I do not know if it is the fact to be living in a new place, in a barracks or with a boyfriend that makes it not be so frightening, but I see my future different now.

Not that it will happen for sure. But, D. would not be against that idea, I can see that!

It is also weird because I have not been eager to live with a boyfriend lately, I like my independence and living on my own with my little rabbit. But D. is not home every night and every weekend, so I would still have moments on my own and, as I said, I feel good being here. Anyway, we will see what life brings...

This was my first post live from D.'s place! wink

Have a nice weekend all.

A casual lovely sunny Sunday with love!

Life can be so simple sometimes.

Sunday was very nice! After having got up early on Saturday to get home from D., I got up around 7:30am on Sunday to go and meet D. at his place as he was finishing work at 7am.

One very funny and weird thing happened. When I got there, around 9am - after letting an ID at the entrance of the barracks, giving my license plate number and being attributed a visitor car park - I got a special feeling. I had told him that I would only be there for 10 or 11am and wanted to surprise him by arriving earlier. I did not think about looking if his car was there but I thought "what if he had gone for jogging or left for some other purpose...". I called him as soon as I was in his building and casually asked him if he was home when he answered that he was not... because he was at the foot of my building!

We had had the same idea and left at the same time from home to get to the other's place! That was so funny. My poor boy had to come back right away and bear another 20min road by himself, until we finally got together!

We had a casual but very nice Sunday! We watched a DVD in the morning, chilled out and ate lunch late and left for a walk in the neighborhoods in the afternoon. There are so nice places around there, parks and pedestrian ways along the Seine. The weather was so nice, sunny, hot and windy, it seemed we were on the seaside. We sat on a bench for a while and then walked back home to have dinner at 8pm. We watched the Sunday evening movie and I, unfortunately, had to go home to take care of Sisi and because he had to get up early this morning to go to work at the Elysée (the President's place), another long day 7am-7am.

I had not had such a nice week for... I don't even remember when was the last time!

Looking forward to this weekend as he is off from Friday to Monday! The week is going to be very long.

A lovely unexpectedly Friday at the seaside

It seems I can't find another subject to talk about right now. Mainly because quite a lot has been happening this week but also because there is nothing else that deserved to be talked about lately.

Yesterday, I was supposed to spend the afternoon in Paris with D.
I took the train to his place to have lunch together. Meeting your new boyfriend's apartment for the first time is very important because it gives you lots of information about his personality, his tastes, his habits, etc. I think I have never seen such a nice male apartment! The most important is that, when he arrived, last year, everything had to be done (walls, floor, plumbing...), he lives, like most of his colleagues, in his work's barracks, it is free from rent so why say no. I really like what he has done with the kitchen, very functional, the living room's decoration is simple so far but unisex and imaginative, the bedroom is also simple but very cosy.

After lunch, he asked me:

- "When was the last time you went to the seaside?"

-"hum, last July"

-"well, okay, would you like to go now?"

Few minutes later, we were in the car, heading to Honfleur, near Deauville, on the North-West side of France, 1h30 away from Paris. We ate in a Crêperie next to the port, had a walk near the seaside and took advantage of the hot and sunny afternoon. Unfortunately, at the end of the afternoon, there was a storm so we did not stay longer and went back home.

I had planned to go home in the evening because he is working today from 7am to 7am tomorrow.

He made us dinner - and he knows quite some about cooking too! - and in the evening, he proposed me to stay for the night but I could not unless I had some personal stuff with me and so he proposed to drive home and get back at his place as - at this time of the night - our homes are only 25min away by car. I could also take care of Sisi by the same occasion.

This morning, I left around 9am to go home, I had the vet appointment at 10:30am.

I went and said a little Goodbye to D. and give him his keys. Did you know that you are not supposed to kiss too much (one is already not very welcome) when you are wearing an official/state uniform? Very frustrating! By the way, some men are very good looking with suits and uniforms!wink

Tomorrow morning, I am driving over there, then we'll see.

Yesterday, he told me something about this registration on the dating site. We could have never met. He registered after a bet with some colleagues (thanks guys!) and was not planning to stay more than a month or two but he forgot to cancel his registration in March, then he left for vacation last month and forgot again, he had plan to cancel it when back to Paris, what a chance he wrote to me before that!

To answer the title of my last post: it may!

Could Prince Charming exist?

Life is so full of surprises!

Sometimes, I wonder why it is so mean with me, as I am still struggling to find a job, Sisi is not feeling worse but her state is stationary, not better...

And then, bam, within few days, someone comes into your life, a part of it totally changes and it unsettles your mind.

Today, my boy is working, he had to get ready around 3:30am to dress with his parade costume to take part to a May 8th - end of WW2 - commemoration in the North of France all day long! Not very exciting to stand still for hours.

So yesterday, we were not supposed to see each other as I had told him I had to work on my job applying and on Wednesdays my mom take the car to stay at her partner's place so I was stuck at home. I am used to do surprises but not receive them, and by the end of the afternoon, I received a call from him telling me that - if I was not too busy - he was at the foot of my building and could come to just have a kiss! He had told me had was going for a walk in Paris, what a liar! wink

Even if I lost 1h30 or two not applying, I was very glad he had drove to my place! We had a very nice evening and first casual meal together. The evening led to night and he only left around 2am, so he basically did not sleep much at his place, only in the bus that was taking his company to the commemoration. What a brave boy! Earlier, he had told me "that's what happens when you decide to date a young boy* who does not listen". biggrin

While talking, we discovered we had other common points and interests (what were the chances we had the same bed! lol). We talked quite much about our respective past love life and he really seems to be a nice person. I know that, in the beginning, we behave like new lovers, send each other bunch of text messages, etc. but what he writes and says is just... so nice and honest!

We are very surprised that we get along so well and feel so good with each other, after only three days (plus a week of virtual getting-to-know-each-other), it seems we have known each other for so much longer! That is the first time that happens to me! And, even if it feels good, it, somehow, feels scary... redface

There will be more to discover this weekend.

P.S. funny that Prince Charming's outfit looks like his parade costume rolleyes

* remember, he is two years younger than me

I feel good.

After all, that was not such a bad idea to go back to these dating Web sites and answer his email.

After a very nice Sunday afternoon with D., we planned to see each other again on Monday afternoon as he was off work. I was looking forward to meet again to have confirmation of the positive vibes I was getting.

I arrived 5 min before the appointment time and as I saw him exiting the metro, I felt good! Well, he is a nice person, is good looking, tall and dresses the way I like (for a guy). cool

We went and saw "Fool's Gold", some romance, comedy and action was a good combination for that day.

For the first time in my life - yes - I did the first move, wow! And was not disappointed about it.

After the movie, we had a drink on a terrace and went to the park next the movie theatre to take advantage of the nice weather. We sat on a bench and spent the rest of the afternoon there, talking and more...

I had planned to leave around 7pm to be home for dinner as my mom was home yesterday evening. We finally left around 8:15pm! mrgreen

The end of the day was a real shitty mess - a technical problem occurred on our train line (we are on the same line but on opposite sides of Paris, East-West) - and had stopped the traffic, so we had to take alternative metro lines and then, I had to take a special bus that had been set to reach the stations that had not been affected by the breakdown. It took us about 2h to go home instead of 45min! But, strangely, I was kind of relaxed and cool about that mess, whereas in normal conditions, I would have been very angry, because this kind of problems regularly occur in Paris! Really don't see why... wink

Anyway, today I feel good, have not felt so good in a long time. smile

After all, small age difference is not such an issue, it really depends on how the person looks and thinks. And he definitely does not behave as a young - in a negative way - man. So far, I have not find any negative points, he seems to be sweet, attentive, mature; ride a moto, is physically attractive and dresses well (and do not tell me it does not count) and has many and various interests. He also has a rabbit at his parent's place, so he knows about and like animals.

The only flaw would be from his work, we does not have a regular Monday-Friday schedule as his work has something to do with the French Republic and the Army. So, he does not always know when he will be off work. As he is back from a week leave, he has to get information about his work schedule, what is not very practical to plan something. confused Whatever, we will deal with it.

It is just the beginning but I have a good feeling... Time will tell. smile
